Family

My family is the most important part of my life.  My husband Keith and I have two wonderful children, Sylvia and Henry.  Both attend Ben Franklin Elementary School.  Our kids are very involved in Menomonee Falls community activities including the Menomonee Falls Little League, Soccer Club, and Swim Club.  As a family, we enjoy camping during the summer in the many beautiful Wisconsin State Parks.

Professional Experience

Over the past three years, I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay home with my kids.  Prior to that, I practiced law for ten years in the areas of business law and estate planning.  I practiced in one of the largest firms in the country, as well as in my own practice that I built with hard work, quality work product, and an unyielding commitment to my clients.  My experience in the practice of law enables me to understand complex issues in a comprehensive way, communicate difficult issues so that they are understandable, and apply rational solutions that work.

Community Involvement

I am very active in our community as well.  I am currently participating in the critically important Strategic Planning Group put together by the School District to chart a course forward in 21st century education.  I serve on the School District's 4K Parent Advisory Board, put together to help the district enhance and improve our wonderful 4K program.  I have been designated by our superintendent as a "key communicator" in our district for my help in educating and communicating with members of the community about what is happening in our district.  I regularly attend our School Board meetings, and I am well versed in the issues that the Board will be facing in the coming months and years.

As a parent of children in the district, I actively particpate in many school activities.  I have served as a room parent in my childrens' classrooms, I volunteer in their classrooms, I am an art docent, an active member of the PTA, and a Girl Scout troop Leader.  This year I am Chair of the PTA sponsored Hoops Night Committee, the largest fundraising event of the year for our school.

All of my activities have helped me build significant connections to parents, teachers and administrators in our district that will help me to be an effective board member.
